New hotel and developments in Berlin for 2018 and beyond
Barcelo is opening a second hotel in Germany. The Berlin property is located on the corner of Invalidenstraße / Clara-Jaschke-Strasse at Berliner Hauptbahnhof. The four-star hotel will offer 283 rooms and suites to business and private travellers, some equipped with expansive balconies. There will be a conference centre on the first floor and a restaurant and bar on the ground floor.
A further 814 rooms will be added to the existing 1,125 rooms of the Hotel Estrel upon completion of the 46-floor Estrel tower. At 176 metres, the new tower will be around 2.5 times as high as the present Hotel Estrel, making it the highest hotel tower in Germany. The opening is scheduled for 2020/2021.
The Lindner hotel me and all is due to open in 2018 with 165 bedrooms. It is situated in the newly built “Volt Berlin” shopping and experience centre at the southern end of Alexanderplatz. Along with this urban-style boutique hotel and shops and restaurants, the Volt will also contain a surfing wave and a wind tunnel.
The Campus-Hotel, a four-star modern congress and conference hotel will have around 320 bedrooms. It is due for completion by 2018/2019 in the Adlershof technology park. A large convention area with conference rooms and a hall for up to 1,000 participants is planned, as well as a multi-functional hall for receptions and exhibitions. The highlight will be the sky bar on the top floor of the 54-metre-high hotel tower.
In August 2016, work began on a hotel at Nollendorfplatz 2 in Schoneberg. It is scheduled to be completed in 2018, offering 85 rooms over ten floors. Some of these are long-stay apartments for long-term visitors. The interior design of the hotel is inspired by Japanese tea rooms.
Also set to be finished by 2018 is the Schultheiss Quartier on the grounds of the former brewery on Turmstrasse in Moabit. Along with a shopping centre offering a range of leisure activities, there will be a hotel with around 250 bedrooms.
